Lampadina LED Table Lamp - Orange
Designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1972 and an object in MoMA's collection, the Lampadina Table Lamp combines a bulb that has a science-lab feel with a stand that evokes a film reel. In Italian, “lampadina” literally means “light bulb” and for this design, Castiglioni played with the concept of light through a decidedly meta recreation of a light bulb. The Lampadina’s clear bulb provides direct lighting, although a portion of it has been sandblasted to create a frosted circle that casts a more diffused light. The anodized aluminum base contains the excess power cord and the lamp is powered by a standard plug-in. Achille Castiglioni has work in MoMA’s collection. The Lampadina Table Lamp measures 9.4"h x 4.9"diam. with a 90” black cord. Bulb included. Made in Italy.
